Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore is a private Engineering College started in 1984 under the auspices of Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group.
Currently the college offers 12 under-graduate (B.E., B.Tech.), 13 post-graduate (M.E., M.Tech., MCA, MBA) as an Autonomous institution affiliated to the Anna University of Technology.
Department of Textile Technology
The Department of Textile Technology was started in the year 1995, conducting B. Tech. Textile Technology and M.Tech. Textile Technology programmes. The department has been recognized by Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore as a Research Centre. The Department has 15 professionally well qualified and highly experienced faculty members including 3 Doctoral faculty. Ten research scholars are pursuing PhD programme at present. Well-equipped laboratories with modern facilities provide ample opportunity to the students to pursue their education with cherished atmosphere of Coimbatore.
Under the banner of the Textile Technology Department a Centre of Relevance and Excellence sponsored by Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi has been established. The TIFAC CORE has modern facilities for product development and testing.

Fashion Technology
The Department of Fashion Technology was constituted in the year 2002. The department has the proud privilege of being the first in the country to offer the four year B.Tech. Fashion Technology programme and two year M.Tech. Apparel Technology and Management programme under Anna University, Coimbatore.
